Rescue workers are pouring into Southern Turkey from around the Mideast Region after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Sunday was followed by powerful aftershocks on Monday morning, killing at least 1,760 people in southern Turkey and over 1,000 people in Northern Syria, with some experts predicting that the death toll could balloon to over 15,000 in the coming days.

Two members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) organization were killed after a shootout with Israeli Defense Forces near the West Bank city of Jenin on Friday. The skirmish was followed Sunday by the shooting death of a 14-year-old Palestinian teen who participated in a crowd attacking IDF positions near Bethlehem. The latest incidents underscore a growing trend of conflict in the West Bank.
