MARANATHA

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS & ANNA THOMAS
FEATUREED IN SHEEP AMONG WOLVES II (FAI STUDIOS, 2019)

With fire in His eyes and hair like wool,
And a voice like a torrent of water so full
Out of His mouth comes a double edged sword
He's coming in glory and coming to make war

Maranatha come Lord Jesus, return to us

I believe heaven will open up
The Son of Man He will come for us
At the end of the age we will behold the King
Coming on the clouds in all His glory

From Bethlehem, to Jerusalem
From Galilee, O to Bethany
He’s been faithful, and He’s always be
So faithful, and so we sing

BECAUSE JESUS.

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY STEPHANIE QUICK

because life is a vapor
because death is gain
because obedience
because “do not take my name in vain”
because life is Christ
because faith
because Gospel
because it’s for His glory’s sake
because the king will return
because the greatest of these is love
because psalm 72
because revelation 21
because hope
because this story isn’t done
because we’re gonna make plowshares out of all our swords and every gun
because barrels bombs shouldn’t fall
because He took on flesh and blood
because He said “go tell them all”
because He still does
because nothing matters more than this
because every nation needs a witness
because the unreached deserve it
because so many haven’t heard yet
because the manger
because He knelt to wash our feet
because grace
because His blood still intercedes
because the prophecies
because Jerusalem and “blessed is He”
because it’s not because He needs us
because Zion
because Jesus.

THE NIGHT WILL SOON BE OVER

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS & ANNA THOMAS

The powers of the air are gonna give way
The sky will roll up, the mountains will fade
The redeemed of the King at the end of the age
Singing Maranatha Lord hasten the Day

So take the scroll, break its seals
Stars fall, earth reel
The man with the scepter, the man with the sword
The man of the cross will soon be crowned Lord
And this night will soon be over

So bow your knee, and turn your eyes
To the only One worthy, the only One right
His eyes are like fire, in glory He’ll ride
To Jerusalem as He rips through the skies

The blood of the Lamb will be our only hope
When the plagues and the fire and the blood and the smoke
Fall upon nations and fall upon kings
Preparing the way for the end of all things
And this night will soon be over
When the seals and the trumpets and all of the bowls
Have run their course and taken their toll
And the last of the wicked have taken their stand
Before the Lord at the Lord’s right hand
In Zion a fountain of judgment and burning
Will open for cleansing, for those who are yearning
For this night to soon be over
For this night to soon be over
And this night will soon be over
And this night will soon be over

Heaven can’t restrain forever (x3)

He will return
He will return, He will return
Like the breaking of the dawn for which we’ve yearned

The wrath and the fury, the wonder, the glory
The splendor the horror, the end of the story
We who survive and who call on His name
Will never taste death, for death is our gain

We will rule and we will reign
With the Son of Man, with our new names
For endless ages with unveiled faces
We’ll finally see the reward of our faith in Jesus,

Our Morning Star, our Morning star in Him the night is over

GALILEE

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY STEPHANIE QUICK

Bet it caught you by surprise
How fast the young and well can die
Bet your mind’s twirling how and why
All these trustworthy mouths have lied

And I bet it was brutal
To find out it’s you
To watch your facade erode
In your own internal coup

But when you are through you’ll
Not easily lose your way
When death is no consequence
And I am your only gain

You’d didn’t think you’d have to climb
Out of a grave this side of time
Let your failures show you My
Resurrection I graft inside

And I bet it was brutal
To find out it’s you
To watch your facade erode
In your own internal coup
But when you are through you’ll
Not easily lose your way
When death is no consequence
And I am your only gain

So come find Me
Where you broke your nets
And wept at My feet
And let Me in
When you can’t make sense
Of this tiring sin

I saw this coming all along
I saw you coming all along

COSTLY

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY STEPHANIE QUICK

Stay alive, friend; don’t give up now
Tempting it is when others go down
I know it hurts; I know these bullets burn
But we are “more than conquerors”

Stay alive, friend; don’t leave the field
Sword in hand, you know this war is real
Bitterness is the death of fallen flesh
Still, no one’s to be left behind just yet

Rhetoric and words are useless for the dirge
Such songs were never cheap
The cowards will run when love demands courage
And all those costly things

Stay alive, friend; don’t forsake love
For it’s all that covers your shed blood
I know it hurts to grieve; I know it hurts to breathe
But guard, above all, your heart in the siege

Rhetoric and words are useless for the dirge
Such songs were never cheap
The cowards will run when love demands courage
And all those costly things

It’s difficult to see why the wounded would rather lie and bleed
It’s difficult to see why captives don’t always want to be free
But it was never yours to solve the mystery of all man’s iniquity

And all those costly things
All those costly things

REDWOOD

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY STEPHANIE QUICK

Keep your hands open, child
It’s only fear that keeps a knuckle white
Lose count of your offenses
That tempt you to shut down inside

Come and hide in Me
My love is the covering
Keeping you from fire and feasting teeth
Everything your tribe is suffering

Call it a redwood
Call it a song believing something good

Cut us open, count the rings
Marks of wounded victories
Giving us the courage to believe again in beauty

Every hard-fought year
Every crimson line
Marks where love left nobody behind
Seven by seventy vows
Seven by seventy times

Call it a redwood
Call it a song believing something good

The kind that hangs on
The kind that boasts none
And covers every kind of offense
The kind that holds up
The kind that bears all
Even when we’re grieving

Call it a redwood
Call it a song believing in something good
Call it a redwood
Call it a redwood

 O COME O COME EMMANUEL

TRADITIONAL
PERFORMED BY JAYE THOMAS FOR 'COVENANT AND CONTROVERSY

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lowly exile here
Until the Son of God appears

O come, O Key of David, come
And open wide our heav’nly home
Make safe the way that leads on high
And close the path to misery

Rejoice, rejoice
Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel

O come, Desire of Nations, bind
In one the hearts of all mankind
O, bid our sad divisions cease
And be Yourself our King of Peace

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lowly exile here
Until the Son of God appears

Rejoice, rejoice
Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel

BALLADS OF THE REVELATION

REUNION ON PATMOS

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

There on the island, my Lord I did see
I fell at His feet as though dead, trembling in glory
I’ve been yearning for years now yearning to be
Near to my Friend again as in my memories

Oh I’ve missed Him so; O, I’ve missed Him so
More than words can say just how much I ache
To see my Friend again

There on the island I beheld His face like the sun
His voice a torrent of waters, His feet like burnished bronze
In those hands once scarred, now holding seven stars
And the keys to death and hell, our Conqueror’s reward

Oh I’ve missed Him so; O, I’ve missed Him so
More than words can say just how much I ache
To see my Friend again

Maybe this is what You meant back then
Knowing what it would do in me
My heart now haunted by memories of my Friend
And those days in Galilee

Oh I’ve missed You so; O, I’ve missed You so
More than words can say just how much I ache
To see my Friend again

BANISHMENT

WRITTEN BY MADAM GUYON AND DALTON THOMAS
PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

O Thou, by long experience tried
Near whom no grief can long abide
My love! how full of sweet content
I pass my years of banishment!

To me remains nor place nor time;
My country is in every clime;
I can be calm and free from care
On any shore, since God is there

He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my soul
He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my love

Could I be cast where thou art not,
That were indeed a dreadful thought;
But regions none remote I call
Secure of finding God in all

My country, Lord, art Thou alone;
Nor other can I claim or own;
The place where all my yearnings meet;
My law, my love, my joy so sweet

He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my soul
He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my love

I cling to nothing here below;
Appoint my journey and I go;
Though pierced by scorn, oppressed by pride
Even now, always at my side

No violence done can hurtful prove
To souls on fire with heavenly love;
Though men and devils both condemn,
My fate does not belong to them

He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my soul
He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my love

In everlasting love I rest
As when I laid upon His chest
All this pain is light and fleeting
If only I can hear His heart beating

He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my soul
He was with me then, He is with me now
They can kill my body, but not my love

NOW TO HIM

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Behold He is coming, every eye will see
Even those who pierced Him, Israel’s King
Now to Him who loved us, now to Him who bled
To the One who bore our sin, and those thorns on His head
To the most faithful witness, to the firstborn from death
To the ruler of kings and in Whom our souls rest

To the Alpha Omega, the Beginning and end
To the One who was and Is coming again
You are who was You are who is
You are who is to come

We are blessed
If we read and keep these words

SEVEN LETTERS

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

I saw seven stars
All in the hand of the Lord of ours;
Seven lamp stands standing before
The Son of Man who can
Tear these seven seals
From the scroll in the hand of the Father of the Lamb
And the King with holes in His hands

He gave seven letters
To a man in chains and fetters
And told mysteries
In the Spirit of prophecy

He gave seven letters
To a man in chains and fetters
He gave mysteries
In the Spirit of prophecy

He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying
He who has ears let him hear about the glorious Day when
The Lord will reward those who overcome the world
Then they reign with Him who overcame
And who by flames will test our lives
To see what will remain
What will remain after the flames?

HEROES WORTH A DAMN

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

When I was in the Presence of the Holy Lord of all
I saw in His hand that He was holding a scroll
An angel then asked, “Who’s worthy to breaks its seals?”
Knowing no one was, pain was all that I could feel

We have no hope, we have no heroes
Surely not you and surely not me no
All our heroes they ain’t worth a damn
None, not one, can take the scroll from His hand

Then someone said, “Dear John, stop crying,
Turn and behold, Jesse’s Root, and Judah’s Lion.”
I wiped the tears from my eyes, and lifted up my gaze
I saw there standing, a Lamb who had been slain

We have no hope, we have no heroes
Surely not you and surely not me no
All our heroes they ain’t worth a damn
None, not one, can take the scroll from His hand

We have no hope, we have no heroes
Surely not you and surely not me no
All our heroes they ain’t worth a damn
So bow your knee to the Lion and the Lamb

Rich men, poor men, strong men, weak men
Slave men, free men, oh man, all men
Hiding in caves in all of the mountains
Hiding in fear of the wrath of the Lamb-Man
When He tears the seals from that scroll in the hand of God
And looses the judgments O upon the land

I’ll break my alabaster jar of all I am for all You are
You are altogether worth it

We have no hope, we have no heroes
Surely not you and surely not me no
All our heroes they ain’t worth a damn
None, not one, can take the scroll from His hand

We have no hope, we have no heroes
Surely not you and surely not me no
All our heroes they ain’t worth a damn
So bow your knee to the Lion and the Lamb

A BEAST RISING

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

I saw a beast rising from the sea
He and ten kings rising
Speaking deceit, he and his league
Uttered lies and blasphemy
For 42 months he was granted authority
And the nations bowing before him
Worshipping

I saw three kings in his wrath falling
And he in the Holy Place now standing
I beheld the mystery of iniquity in his body
I saw his armies
Invading the City of Zion the holy

I saw saints falling in his
Violence and fury but
Shining in glory
For they know the end of the story
The nations said “Who can
Make war with this man?”
Then I said, “I know Someone who can.”

FOUR HORSES

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Gather round, and I’ll tell you how
The beginning of the end it’ll all go down
It’ll start with riders on four colored horses
Oh and the rise of that little horn’s forces
Though they’re evil you need to know
They’re not outside the Lord’s control
They only ride after the Lamb
Tears the seals with His nail-pierced hands

When those horsemen ride
You’ll have to choose a side
Choose wisely, my friends
For today is the beginning of the end

The first of the four, that horse will be white
But I can tell you this, he don’t belong to the Light
He’s no redeemer or Savior alright
But a false messiah, the antichrist

The second of the four, that horse will be red
His going forth will leave so many dead
Peace will be taken from the earth and dread
Will fall on the world given over to bloodshed

When those horsemen ride
You’ll have to choose a side
Choose wisely my friends
For today is the beginning of the end

The third of the four, that horse will be black
After he comes, we’ll never go back
To the way things were before the attack
When the famines began and the banks collapsed

The fourth of the four, that horse was pale
And his rider was called Death and Hell
When he broke forth, a fourth of the earth
Was killed in the trouble in the weight of the dearth

When those horsemen ride
You’ll have to choose a side
Choose wisely my friends
For today is the beginning of the end

We won’t fear those horsemen
Because we know Another

And He has a horse too
Yeah, He has a horse too

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE FIFTH SEAL

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

How long, how long
Till You avenge the blood of the righteous

You said, “Wait just a little while longer
Wait just a little while longer
Till the full number are slain as you were slain”

Waiting, waiting, waiting
For the reckoning
For the reckoning

Maranatha

Come

BODIES IN THE STREETS OF JERUSALEM

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

For nearly forty two months
This war has raged
And the siege of the Jerusalem was still holding
The battalions on the ground
Prepared their tanks
For the final days
The resistance in the City
Appeared now to be folding
The Temple Mount there lay
In ruin and rubble
As the Generals gave the orders
To advance the frontlines

I saw two witnesses standing
In the middle of that rubble
They were calling down fire and shutting up the skies
When they finished their testimony
I saw the Dark Commander of the forces rise
Then with fury and violence
He cut the two men down
Their slain bodies lay
Three days on the streets of
The City where our Lord was crucified

The nations gazed and marveled
Forbidding them to be buried in the ground
On the middle of the fourth day
I saw the slain men stand
The life of God now within them
Their enemies now drunk with fear
Failing to understand
At that very moment
A great earthquake shook Zion like a bell
Seven thousand people died, and tenth of the city fell
I heard a voice then thunder, after seeing what was just done:
“The second woe is passed, the third is soon to come”

Then a seventh angel stood and lifted one last trumpet to his mouth
Echoing across the ranks of the armies of the kings of the north and of the south
In heaven, loud voices began proclaiming in glory:
“It’s almost done; Behold,
The Kingdoms of this world,
They’ll now all become the Kingdom
Of our Lord and Christ
The slain and risen Son
It’s almost over now, it’s almost over now
These days of vengeance, these days of vengeance

I WON’T BOW MY KNEE IN BABYLON

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

Behold the patience of the saints
Behold the glory of their chains
Behold their joy in the middle of their pain
Behold how they love His Name

I won’t bow my knee in Babylon
I will bow to only Only One
I wont bow to the Devil in Babylon
Only to David’s Son in Zion

I won’t kneel to the Beast even though he slay me
Only to the Prince of Peace who saved me

The famine, the flames, the sword, and the fury,
Cannot change the end of the story
Come what may, in this dark night
Soon we will see the dawning Light

Babylon, Babylon
I won’t bow my knee to you
We will carry on, carry on
Holding fast we will pass through

Jealousy is a husband’s fury
He will not spare in the Day of vengeance
Jealousy is a husband’s fury
He will not relent

The smoke of the whore will rise forever
The joy of the Bride will abide forever

WHEN THE WORLD CAVES IN

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

Falling, falling
Babylon is falling
But the saints are standing tall

Between the night, and light, and the fight
I will stay steady
Between the gain and the loss and the cross
I will be ready
Between the here, and the now, and then
I will be burning
For the Day when I say “I’m home”
My heart is yearning

Between the night and the light
Between the light and the fight
Lord prepare me, for Your appearing
Between the night and the light
Between the light and the fight
Lord prepare me, for Your returning

For when I’ll know you as Judge
When I’ll know you as a Brother
When I’ll know you as King
When I’ll know you as a Lover
When I’ll know as I am known
When I’ll abide forever
O With my Redeemer

When this age ends
When the world caves in
You will find me in love with You
When this age ends
When the world caves in
You will find me prepared for You

Riches I heed not
Nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance
Now and always
Thou and Thou only
First in my heart
High King of heaven
My treasure, Thou art

Falling, falling, Babylon is falling
But the saints are standing tall
When You shake everything that can be shaken
Take all of me that can be taken
All for the glory of love

A TALE OF TWO CITIES

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

This is a tale of two cities growin up side by side
A story of a harlot and a story of a bride
One follows the Lamb wherever He goes
The other another and oh how it shows
One is drunk on blood, the other drunk in love
One is pulling the triggers, the other laying down their guns
One is doing the killing, the other doing the dying
One is Babylon and the other is Zion
One is fornicating like a prostitute
The other clean oh and resolute
To stay faithful and steady pure and unmoved
Radiant and ready, her love tested and proved

Fallin’ fallin’ Babylon is fallin’
But the saints are standing tall
Callin’ callin’, our Lord is callin’
“Come out of her before she falls!”

So come out of her now, listen to the call
Come out of her now, before she falls

Here’s the funny thing about the bride
She’s no more righteous, she’s no more white
Than the whore that dirty harlot right
She’s just covered in the blood, made righteous in His sight
The great difference between the bride and the whore
Is the bride she knows she was made for more
Than to become a slave and a troubadour
For the enemy who will burn forevermore

When the seals and the trumpets and all of the bowls
Have run their course and taken their toll
And the last of the wicked have taken their stand
Against the Lord at the Lord’s right hand

She’ll overcome by the blood of the lamb
She’ll overcome by the wounds in His hands
She’ll overcome, in boldness she’ll stand
She’ll give her life for the lion the lamb

ALL HAIL THE BLOODY KING

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

Every eye will see Him, every eye will see
Wrapped in light and power, clothed in dreadful majesty
Riding on a White Horse
With a robe covered in blood
Of nations tread like a winepress
Of the fury of the wrath of God

This is our hope, this is our hope
This is our redemption

He who bore the cross will soon wear the crown
Coronated in Jerusalem, enthroned on Mount Zion
All creation will bow down, every knee will bend
Every tongue will confess He is Lord and
The great rebellion will end

This is our hope, this is our hope
This is our redemption

He who came will return to us again
Just like He promised, just like
He said It is written that from the east to the west
His coming will be like lightning
We believe in the glory of the story He is writing

He will return to us again
Just like He promised, just like He said
It is written that from the east to the west
His coming will be like lightning
We believe in the glory of the story He is writing

All hail, the Rider on the White Horse
All hail the Bloody King
All hail the Conqueror long-promised
Lord of War, Prince of Peace

FOR A THOUSAND YEARS

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

For a thousand tongues to sing
Of a thousand years to bring
All His promises to pass and fulfill prophecy
When the final trumpet has been blown
The dragon will be seized and thrown
Into a pit none to atone—for a thousand years
For the souls who had been slain
Sitting on their thrones to reign
In the dynasty of David’s King
For a thousand years

Death, hell, and sea give up your dead
Upon them all fall awe and dread
To be condemned just as was said
After the thousand years

Earth and sky will flee away
Before the Judge and Potentate
Their deeds and works they will be weighed
After the thousand years
All who refused to submit to Him
Will be then cast into
The Lake of Fire in justice true
After the thousand years

The accuser of our brothers, he has been cut down
Our enemy is vanquished, he in chains is bound
The savage days have given way to a thousand years of peace
After the final death of death
And the awaited wedding feast

He’s been faithful to every word He’s ever spoken
He’s been faithful and true through it all
He’s been faithful to every word He’s ever spoken
He’s been faithful and true through it all, through it all

TREE OF LIFE

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

In the Garden, there were two trees
One promised bondage
The other that we would always be free
We traded everything, we lost everything
Now our only hope is in the promise
Of the coming Seed

I miss the cool of the day
The way You called my name
Before I knew blame, and all the shame
Before it all, before the fall
Those were the days, those were the days

I long to crush the head of the serpent
Under my feet for all his deceiving
He came to steal, to kill, and to destroy
But Jesus, He came for life and for joy

You are the tree of life
You are the Father of heavenly lights
You are the Promised One, the only One
Who can make all this right
There is never gonna be Another who can set us free
But our slain and risen King
Jesus

EVERY GENERATION LIVES IN ME

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON & ANNA THOMAS

I am the little man in the tree
I am the whore You showed mercy
I am the woman at the well
I am David the day after he fell
I am Nicodemus in the night
I am the blind man, groping for the light
I am Pilate, asking what is truth
I am a thief, bleeding out beside you
I am because You are

I am Adam, after the curse was spoken
I am Eve, believing it will be broken
I am brother Cain, after slaying Abel
I am Mephibosheth, reclining at Your table
I am Jacob, bartering a birthright
I am a mighty man, for the King I live to fight
I am Simon, sifted like wheat
I am Daniel, yearning for the final week
I am because You are

I am Moses, in flight before Pharaoh’s army
I am Gomer, bought with shekels and barley
I am Legion, roaming among the graves
I am Hagar, commanded to walk away
I am the prodigal, returning from afar
I am Mary, with a broken alabaster jar
I am blind Bartimeaus
I am walking on the road to Emmaus
I am because You are

I am Noah, drunk and covered up by my sons
I am Jonah, heading west and on the run
I am Rahab with scarlet in my window
I am the Shulamite, I found you, I’ll never let you go
I am Jairus pleading for my daughter
I am Abraham with a son who’s marked for slaughter
I am Lazarus rising from the dead
I am John the Beloved and I miss my best Friend
I am because You are

Every generation lives in me
Every generation lives in me
Every generation lives in me
I am the Bride made ready

ASLAN’S LAND

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON, ANNA, & ISAIAH THOMAS

When I saw the Holy City descending
I recalled the great tales and all of their endings
How they served me on my journey, this pilgrim way
By lighting the path, the road that led to this Day

These stories led me home
All these stories, they led me home

Stories of swords and stones and rings forged in fire
Wardrobes, White Witches and days in the Shire
Dragons and beasts, long treacherous roads
All these tales of great battles, traitors and heroes
The legends of the silver shore
And Aslan’s land told long before
Led me here on a search for more
A quest for glory through eternity’s door

These stories led me home
All these stories, they led me home

All these stories are whispers, whispers and shadows
Guiding like light on the roads O that we go
On our way to Zion, to behold Judah’s Lion
When God will dwell among men forever, amen

Home, we are finally home

Like Christian the Pilgrim unburdening his load
In the Celestial city at the end of the road
I am finally free, I finally know
I’ve finally made it—I’m finally home.

ON JORDAN’S STORMY BANKS

traditional PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

On Jordan’s stormy banks I stand,
And cast a wishful eye
To Canaan’s fair and happy land,
Where my possessions lie.

There generous fruits that never fail,
On trees immortal grow;
There rocks and hills, and brooks and vales,
With milk and honey flow.

No chilling winds nor poisonous breath
Can reach that healthful shore;
Sickness, sorrow, pain and death,
Are felt and feared no more.

I am bound
I am bound
I am bound for the promised land

BORN INTO A STORY

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

I was born into a story of Joseph and his seed
When the sons of Jacob came no more than seventy
And multiplied in Egypt before the face of a new King
I was born into a story much bigger, much bigger than me

I was born into a story, of slaves, Pharaoh’s, of priests
In the shadow of an empire, in tribulation, toil, and grief
When our Hebrew sons were slain by, Egyptian sword so violently
I was born into a story much bigger, much bigger than me

I was born into a river, the rushes and the reeds
I was born into the groaning of my people to be free
I was born into oppression, brutal days of slavery
I was born into a story much bigger, much bigger than me

I was born into a suffering, longing to cross the sea
From the agony of bondage to the joy and liberty
Into the Land we’ve long heard about, the Land we’ve longed to see
I was born into a story much bigger, much bigger than me

This is a ballad of fire and glory
That begins in the rivers and quarries
In the shadow of a tyrant King
In a land where my fathers before me
Sang their own ballad of deliverance from
The great famine when Jacob’s sons
Stood before their brother undone
When they saw who Joseph had become

This is a ballad of my family tree
Its branches are broken and twisted like me
Just like my mother my father you see
Just like my whole twisted family

My father took his father’s sister to be
His wife and the mother of my brother and me
I was born of the Levites, the tribe of priests
But I was raised in the home of an Arab King

This is a ballad of Exodus
Of how the Lord He delivered us
After four hundred and thirty years
And generations of bitter tears

This is a ballad, a redemption song
Sung by a people who suffered long
Who saw the arm of their Lord so strong
In a land where they never belonged

I am Moshe
He drew me out of waters deep
He is Yahweh
The One who set our people free

I was born into a river, the rushes and the reeds
I was born into the groaning of my people to be free
I was born into oppression, brutal days of slavery
I was born into a story much bigger, much bigger than me

WHO AM I?

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

I have Abraham’s blood running through my veins
But an Egyptian home where I was raised
I have a mother I know, and a mother I don’t
She nursed me, and gave me to the daughter of Pharaoh

Who am I?
Who am I?

I’m lost in a maze of conflicting memories
Searching for the roots at the base of my family tree
Am I a son of Rah, or a son of the Most High?
Should I be a slave or a Prince, who’s God should I defy?

Who am I?
Who am I?

I don’t know, which way to go
What God to pray to, or what face to show
To people who raised me, or to the people who made me
Do I belong in the palace or in slavery

Who am I?
Who am I?

There’s an Egyptian and a Hebrew inside of me
Both have known a suffering, a bitter agony
I don’t know which one is my identity
Which one should I kill, which one should I be?

CHOSEN FOR WHAT?

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Chosen for what?
Chosen for this?
Chosen for broken
And hollow promises

Chosen for what?
Chosen for this?
Chosen for broken
And hollow covenant

We are the people of the broken promises
We are the people of the broken covenant
We are the people of the God of broken promises
We are the people of the broken covenant

We are the people of the broken promises
We are the people of the hollow covenant
We are the people of the God who’s broken them

His promises are lies
Promised for what?
His covenant is a lie

We are the people of the broken promises
We are the people of the God who’s broken them

We are people of the the God of promises
We are people of broken promises

His promises are lies
As we languish under His skies

OCEAN OF FIRE AND SAND

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

I am a rambler, wandering in a wasteland
I am a beggar stretching out these beggars hands
I am a stranger estranged in a stranger land
I am a flame I am a grain, in this ocean of fire and sand

I hate the sun I hate the sand
I hate the rocks I hate this land
I hate the way it overwhelms
I hate myself

I hate the heat that burns the day
I hate the cold when it fades away
I hate this brutal barren place
I hate my name

I hate the water that never flows
I hate the seeds that were never sown
I hate the fruits that never grow
I hate my Dad that I don't know

I hate my fake family and
I hate the tribe of Abraham
I hate I’ve got nowhere to go to
But if I did I’d hate it too

I hate the thought of Egypt
But I hate I had to leave it
I hate the promised land
I hate the covenant

I hate living in between
Harsh realities and dreams
I hate not being free
I hate me

The same sun that softens the snow
Hardens the soil after the rain goes
I hide from her in the noonday heat
I search for her when the dawn is breaking

She rises, she sets, she cools she burns
When she comes I scorn, when she goes I yearn
There’s pleasure and pain, out on these painted plains
In this barren land that’s starved for rain

I am a rambler, wandering in a wasteland
I am a beggar stretching out these beggars hands
I am a stranger estranged in a stranger land
I am a flame I am a grain, in this ocean of fire and sand

There’s a mystery to the desert you see
Like the mystery of the desert inside of me
It’s the place of breaking, the place of making
I follow the path of the wind that’s taking

Me to a place that I can abide
To rest in a home where I won’t have to hide
In a land where I’ll never have to choose a side
All I have to do now, is survive

I am a rambler, wandering in a wasteland
I am a beggar stretching out these beggars hands
I am a stranger estranged in a stranger land
I am a flame I am a grain, in this ocean of fire and sand

I was born in the river but Ill die in this sea
Of fire and sand in this desert inside me
And the desert around me, that found me, that bound me
In a prison of rage, and a hatred of me

I am a rambler, wandering in a wasteland
I am a beggar stretching out these beggars hands
I am a stranger estranged in a stranger land
I am a flame I am a grain, in this ocean of fire and sand

DESERT GIRL

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

When I was young
I killed a man
I went on the run
With blood on my hands

When the story spread
Of the man that I slayed
I knew I had to flee
I knew I couldn’t stay

Under that eastern sun
I bid my life goodbye
I headed out
Under those eastern skies

Where can a man go
When he has no home
Where can a man like me flee
But to the desert, beyond the Red Sea

When I was young
I met a girl
With her sisters and their flock
At the watering well

Then I met her Daddy
And he gave her away
There in a moment
I chose to stay

The problem was
She was a Midian girl
Not of Abraham’s tribe
She wasn’t of my world

But it didn’t seem to matter
Her Daddy didn’t seem to mind
As I long as took her
And left my people behind

Zipporah, my desert girl
Zipporah, my Midian girl

Dancing in the evening light
With you under painted skies
Embracing as the heat of day
Dissipates and fades away
Into the cool and dark of night
Alone beneath the stars so bright
On the peaks of Horeb’s heights
My mind it wanders and recites
As I remember days gone by
In these memories of mine
Days there on the Nile
When I was young

We made a family
We built a life
A killer and a desert girl,
Now man and wife

She gave birth to my sons
And we raised them her way
We didn’t circumcise them
But I chose the names

Names telling the story
Of my sojourning way
As a son of Abraham
Living in a land far away

The next forty odd years
In the heat and the sand
I was shepherding sheep
In that Arabian land

In the shadow of Mt Sinai
Our love blossomed and bloomed
Though I didn’t even know you
Our love how it grew
Into something strong into something true
At least that’s what I thought until the
Bridegroom of blood stood before me
Before me and you

TYRANT RISING

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

On the 5th day of the 4th month Pharaoh died
Another rose in his place with evil in his eyes
He was a strong man with a face like stone
He was a cruel man oh how my people groaned

Under his heavy heavy hand
As prisoners in his land
Longing to be free
Longing to take a stand

I saw I saw a tyrant rising
In the place of the King that died
with darkness in his eyes
I saw I saw my people despising
The covenant of old
And their God who was hiding
Amidst their oppression

The promises of old
Passed on by those who’ve gone before
To our fathers who told
What must be nothing more than fables and lore
Are the promises true or lies, Are we fools or wise
To cling to them when all our lives Have been swallowed by
An oppression that’s stealing the light from our eyes

We’ve been bruised, cast down and broken
Still we lean into the promises spoken
That one day we would free in the land
Tilling the soil given to Abraham

I saw I saw a tyrant rising
In the place of the King that died
with darkness in his eyes
I saw I saw my people despising
The covenant of old
And their God who was hiding
Amidst their oppression

BRIDEGROOM OF BLOOD

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

There on the eve of the Exodus
The Lord He came, He came to kill us
This is the story of the final night
Before the plagues started and I lost my wife

After what happened there in the inn
I wouldn’t see my Zipporah again
But one more time before we began
Our long road to Canaan Land

On our way to Egypt I
Stopped at an inn just for the night
With uncircumcised sons and a bitter wife
Who was offended at I AM and I

At first I didn’t understand why He came to meet us
His ways in those days were so mysterious
His commands indeed proved to be serious
Infinitely kind, but O so furious

Did He come to save or bury us
Was He there to kill or marry us
Did He appear to divide or unite us
Did He draw He near to prepare or to fight us

That night the Lord almost took my life
My wife Zipporah she took a knife
Oh and with a bloody piece of skin
There she made atonement for our sin

The sin we refused to admit we were in
Was the sin of compromising
We didn’t obey His command to circumcise
Not just our flesh, but our hearts and lives

I didn’t even realize
All the years of compromise
And consequence of all the little lies
I told myself to just to survive

It wasn’t about the foreskin or the blood
It was always about our hearts and our love
He wanted it all, not just our skin
He wanted us free from the lies we were living

If I was going to set my people free
It had to start with me and my family
He wanted all of me
He wanted everything

The problem was Zipporah wasn't ready
To give it all up to the One who had led me
To leave Midian and confront Egypt’s King
To lay it all down, knowing what it would bring

With the blade in her hand, she threw the skin at His feet
As the Lord relented, relented from killing
Regret filled my heart, the realization was chilling
Knowing I was partly to blame for her being unwilling
What she said next cut me just like a sword
With these words, she said to the Lord:
“Surely you’re a bridegroom of blood to me.”

When the sun rose, I left to see the King
She didn’t she didn't she didn't come with me
I went to Pharaoh she went to Jethro
As she headed home, I headed west alone

On the way my brother came
we met and embraced marveling how much we’d changed
over the years that we’d been apart
it was as it was way back at the start

Aaron, oh Aaron and me
we headed into the belly
the belly of the beast

PHARAOH, LET MY PEOPLE GO

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

All your prophets are liars, your sorcerers are crooks
All of your idols and your dark religious books
Are worthless and powerless in the face of what’s to come
You’re not my Master, not my Father, I’m not your slave, I’m not your son

Pharaoh
Let my people go
You don’t know how this is gonna go
If you don’t let me people go

My people are exhausted under your cruel and heavy hand
But our days are numbered here, bound in this sun scorched land
Your resistance it will be futile, we’re leaving, we will be free
Your scepter it will be broken, your army will be drowned under the sea

Pharaoh
Let my people go
You don’t know how this is gonna go
If you don’t let me people go

Your dead religion and superstition won’t save you
Your army doesn't stand a chance
Your kingdom will collapse soon
You're not prepared to go this distance
If you harden your heart like stone
The Lord will break you and your throne
If you defy Him tonight
Your scepter wont survive

Pharaoh
Let my people go
You don’t know how this is gonna go
If you don’t let me people go

NIGHT OF NIGHTS

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Gold horizon burns remains of day
Red sun sets over dusty plains
Nile reflects its radiant rays
Last light of dusk fades away

Cool of evening the darkness falls
Upon Egypt and the people all
Will see His wonders in shock and awe
The Exodus is here

Soon you’ll see bodies in the water and fire in the sky
For tonight, this night, will be the night of nights
After the plagues they fall, we will rise
For tonight, this night, will be the night of nights

When the first plague fell the river ran red
With crimson blood just as he said
I stood on the shore with staff in hand
I loosed the judgments on Pharaoh’s land

When the second, third, and fourth plague fell
The frogs, and the gnats, and the flies did swell
Ravaging the people and the places they dwell
Devouring the crops and the land as well

When the fifth plague struck all the livestock died
As terror filled every Egyptian eye
But in Goshen the Hebrew animals were spared
Just as the Lord faithfully declared

When the sixth and the seventh plagues were sent
Boils broke out with hail like a torrent
Mingled with fire as the heavens were rent
Egypt buckled under heavy torment

When the eighth and the ninth plague they came
Locusts devoured all that remained
As darkness fell upon the windswept plains
Egypt braced for the final plague

When the tenth plague fell it was the worst of them all
At midnight a furious judgment did fall
Every firstborn in Egypt was slain
For Pharaoh hardened his heart again

Soon you’ll see bodies in the water and fire in the sky
For tonight, tonight, will be the night of night
After the plagues they fall, we will rise
For tonight, tonight, will be the night of night

This is the Exodus, Exodus
He’s leading us out, leading us out
He’ll walk with us, walk with us
He’s leading us out, leading out in Exodus

BLOOD OF THE LAMB

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Pharaoh
If you don’t let us go
You’re gonna know
A pain much greater than bloody rivers
Tonight
Your firstborns are gonna die
If you want them to survive
Listen to what I say

Israel
You better listen well
Tonight at twilight
You will see wonders multiplied
When one last plague will fall
It’ll be the worst of them all
And Pharaoh
Will be forced to let us go

When He passes through
He will pass over you
If you do
What I say

Put the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts
Tonight
Put the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts
To survive

The lamb’s blood is stronger
The Lord’s arm is longer
When He comes in judgment
He will show abundant
Grace and mercy
Fire and fury
To deliver us
Through the blood of the Lamb

Put the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts
Tonight
Put the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts
To survive

Oh precious is the flow
Of the power in the lambs blood this I know
Oh precious is the flow
Of the power in the lambs blood this I know

JAH WILL DO THE FIGHTING

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

After the death of the firstborns across the land
Pharaoh released us from Goshen and
We set out across the peninsula of Sinai
Following a pillar of fire burning in the night sky

When we left I took the bones of Joseph with me
For the prophecy that they would be carried
To Canaan land where our forefathers were buried
To be laid to rest where Isaac and Rebekah were married

Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us

The Lord He did not lead us into land of Philistines
He knew that we would to Egypt be returning
If we faced war for which we were not ready
Instead he led us east out toward the Red Sea

As we approached the coast that night
Pharaoh hardened his heart one last time
Like the turning tide again he changed his mind
Deploying his army to the desert behind

Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us

In the distance we saw the dust storm rise
As terror filled our children’s eyes
The ground shook beneath us as we trembled inside
In fury gaining ground, his army did ride

Soon we would reach the cliffs at the end of the road
At the edge of the coast with nowhere to go
As the riders were riding violently striding
We had only to be silent for Jah would do the fighting

Halalalalalala
Jah will fight for us

Behold HIs wonders in the sky tonight
Behold His wonders on the land tonight
Behold His wonders on the sea tonight
Jah will fight for us

Only be silent

FINALLY FREE

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

When the tide turns
Beloved, all be ready
When the tide turns
We’re heading east

When the tide turns
We’ll leave the shore and descend into the Sea
When the tide turns
He’ll draw us out of waters deep

When the tide turns
Pharaoh’s army will drown under the Sea
When the tide turns
We will be finally finally free

Follow me, follow me
Down to the edge of the red sea
Follow me to where I stood before
Forty years ago or more
When I rode around her shore
But this time Ill ride right through it

Follow me, follow me
Through the belly of the Red Sea
Listen my sons, oh my daughters
There’s a fire that burns hotter
Than the wrath of Egypt's King
Surely soon we all will see
The fire of Yahweh who
will surely lead us through
the night by pillar of flame
to show the power of His Name

Follow me, follow Him
Into joy everlasting
We will live, we will not die
And Pharaoh’s army will not survive

Egypt’s King, Egypt’s King
Will see his army cast into the sea
All his chariots and riders drowned
But the people of Israel crowned

Follow me on dry land
To the mountain where it all began
Where I saw the Son of Man
In the bush burning and
Where He made the promise to me
The promise we would be free
Follow me, follow now
Fear not O Israel

He’ll lead us to the mountain and
Into covenant and freedom in
The Land where He first promised it
At Horeb in Midian

We will be
We will be
Finally finally

We will be
We will be
Finally finally free

NOT AFRAID

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY ANNA THOMAS

We are unafraid
We are unafraid
We are unafraid
We are unafraid

We are not afraid
Any longer
Our God
He is stronger than the hand
Of our oppressor
He is faithful
To deliver and to
Loose us
From our chains
He is
The great I AM

The great I AM (x3)

We are unafraid
We are unafraid
We are unafraid
We are unafraid

Some trust in chariots (chariots!)
But we trust in the name of the LORD our God (Lord our God)

Some trust in chariots (chariots!)
But we trust in the name of the LORD our God (Lord our God)
Some trust in chariots (chariots!)
But we trust in the name of the Great I AM
We trust the I AM
We are unafraid

SPLIT ROCK OF AGES

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Now with the sea to our back and Midian before
The people began to resent the Lord
For bringing us out to a land with no water
Forgetting that He had just saved us from slaughter

They grumbled to me saying “Moshe why?”
Did you lead us out of Egypt just to let us die
Here in the desert under the blazing sky
They almost stoned me with rage in their eyes

Then the Lord said, “Take your staff in hand
Meet me at the rock of Horeb where I’ll stand
With you as you strike it like you struck the Nile and
Water will break forth at My command”

So I did and He did and the people did drink
Their fill of water, pushed to the brink
There in the moment, I began to think
How all of these things may have a link

To something much deeper, than we could then see
Like whispers, shadows, and prophecy
About a Man who’d be broken a King who would bleed
Our nation’s Messiah who would hang on a tree

The rock that was broken that was shattered through
It points to another another who
Will come to be broken broken in two
To fulfill all His words that He’d spoken in truth

There in that moment we didn't understand
That salvation must come through blood of a Man
That will rush like the water from the rock by my hand
As part of His wondrous mysterious plan

The One who will come won’t be struck by wood
But by the Father’s wrath, the only thing that could
Make atonement for all of us on that Day
Through the blood that will flow from His holy veins

As the water it flowed to the people down below
From the split rock and the broken stone
The nation drank of what they don’t know
They drank of a magnificent glorious hope

The split rock of Horeb oh how it prophesies
Of a coming Messiah who will be broken to satisfy
The thirst of the nations of Ishmael and Isaac
To pay the ransom for you and I

There’s a day coming, a day on the way
When our messiah will bleed and make a way
For all of the seed of Adam and Eve
Who’ve long been languishing in fig leaves

All of these things, they are whispers of glory
They are shadows of substance, at the heart of the story
Like the blood of the Lamb, The split stone at Sinai
It points us to a Man, through a story that prophesies

Come all you weak
Come all you thirsty
To the Rock of ages
Split for you and me

GIRL, DON’T WALK AWAY

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

It’s clear to me now where it all went wrong
I love your Daddy but I don't belong in
Midian, but I ant sayin it was wrong
To come here at all but that I stayed too long

Put your sandals on girl Ill show you where we crossed
Follow me down so you don’t get lost
On the edge of the Red Sea to see what it cost
All who rebel and how great is the loss
For the horses and riders in the belly of the Sea
For following their hearts and not the One who set us free

I can tell you this once we leave this tent
If you carry your offense and all your resentment
It’s surely gonna tear you apart, so let your guards down girl
Let Him heal your heart

Before you walk away let me show you what He did that day
Come with us to Canaan girl I’m begging you don’t stay

Don’t walk away from this
Don’t walk away from us
Don’t walk away from Him
Girl don’t walk away from us

Zipporah what happened to our love
Zipporah what happened to us
Zippoarh is it over is it done
Tell me, was it the Bridegroom of Blood

Don’t walk away from this
Don’t walk away from us
Don’t walk away from Him
Girl don’t walk away from us

Zipporah what happened to our love
Zipporah what happened to us
Zippoarh is it over is it done
Tell me, was it the Bridegroom of Blood

Zipporah my desert girl
Zipporah my Midian

O ISRAEL, WHAT WILL WE BE?

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

On the third new moon when we arrived
Together at the base of the Mountain of Sinai
We were forged as a nation, bound for Canaan
There on the mountain, we were bound in covenant

Saved from the violence of Egypt, and Pharaoh’s hand
We were safe and sound in Midian land
I left the people and ascended on high
To Horeb’s peaks stretching to the sky

For forty holy days, and forty holy nights
Those were the best days, and the best days of my life
Until the golden calf was forged
And the people stirred the anger of the Lord

Oh Israel what will we be?
What will we be now that we’re free

This is a ballad of fire and glory
A beautiful but a tragic story
About the place were it all began
And the place where it almost ended in

The Lord killing everyone
And starting over with only one
I prayed and begged Him not to and
In His mercy He stayed His holy hand

That prayer, that cry, that grief, those tears
Then gave way to forty years
From when the Lord fulfilled His vows
And people bowed before a golden cow

Israel what will we be
What will we be now that we’re free

For forty holy days, and forty holy nights
Those were the best days, the worst days of my life
As I was receiving, the Law from the Lord
The people worshiped an idol made of gold

For we were free, but not yet free indeed
Still slaves to sin and blind idolatry
The Law He gave, He gave knowing well
We could never fulfill it, we could never dwell

In the Land He gave unconditionally
To Abraham’s seed and Jacob’s family
In that everlasting oath, that covenant of old
His sons now bowing to a cow covered in gold

It’s not enough to possess the Land
Or to obey all of His commands
The problem you see, with you and with me
Is that the Law could never and will never set us free
From the sin that’s within
The sin that defiles
Every man, woman, and child
From the days of the Garden, and every day in between
The Law could never ever set us free
We need Savior
Or we’ll never be free

Israel what will we be
What will we be now that we’re free

We need a Savior
We need a King
We need a Savior
To be free

We need a Savior
We need a King
But it won’t be me

IT WON’T BE ME

WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY DALTON THOMAS

Rock of ages I am not
Redeemer Messiah I am not
Wait for another another
I’m not your Savior, I’m not your King
I’m not your Judge, I am nothing
Wait for another Who will come after me
Wait for another, because it won’t be me

I am longing for Canaan
But I am longing for Eden more
The promised Land is a promised Man
Who will lead us to it with His skillful hand

He will draw us out of waters deep
Waters deeper than the Red Sea
Behold I speak a prophecy
Of One who will come after me
And truly set our people free
Not merely free from Egypt’s king
But free from all and everything
That binds, that kills, enslaves, and stings
A freedom that is truly free
I promise One is coming
Oh but it wont be me

You need a savior, but it won’t be me
You need a deliverer, but it wont be me
You need a redeemer, but it wont be me
Wait for another wait for another who will come
Wait for another, God’s own Son
Wait for another, who will come after me
Because I won’t be me

I am bound
For the promised Land
I am bound
To the Promised Man

BALLADS OF THE SONG OF SOLOMON

BETTER THAN BOURBON

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY AUDRA LYNN

I have learned a special kind of dark
In life’s monotony and hardening of heart
I could write a novel now with nothing profound
Surrounded by the bottles I alone have emptied out

But You are better than bourbon
Better than whiskey, better than wine

We know that life is hard, so God made the moon to shine
But there’s not a shot glass on earth that could save me tonight
I have searched the corners, turned the cupboards upside down
Only to find my Maker’s now the One who marked me out

For all that I had thought a myth, Your grace and mercies crown
For all of my anxieties, Your comforts hound me down
I could never hide my shame from the One who made my skin
You know every hair on my head; every shower I’ve collapsed in

You are better than bourbon
Better than whiskey, better than wine

You are the Father of lights, Father of glory
You can brighten up the thousand shadows in me

But You are better than bourbon
Better than whiskey, better than wine
And You’re better than life

SHE’LL

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY JOHN SCOTT YOUNG

A pistol and a wallflower’s love child
Rodeo temper, but a bit of a coward
And you don’t know
What she does in the dark

She’ll turn you around
And she’ll drink you down
But she’ll never leave this town

She’ll run you around
And she’ll drink you down
But she’ll never leave this town
But she’ll never leave this town
I said she’ll never leave this town

HARD THINGS

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART

Yeah, I’m the first to say I appreciate the shade
But there’s no easy day when there’s so much at stake
I can hear it in the wind, the tide pulling on the waves
But I can see the fear in your eyes tempting you to stay

If love is better than your hardest drink
Get on in, honey, come with Me
We were never for a life of ease
There’s a steeper cost to know beauty
But I’ve seen your sunburn, girl, and I know
You can do hard things

Love is patient and kind, and I can’t force you to decide
Where you want to be in the days before you die
I got all the time in the world to age this new wine
But I can’t stick around, even if you stay behind

If love is better than your hardest drink
Get on in, honey, come with Me
We were never for a life of ease
There’s a steeper cost to know beauty
But I’ve seen your sunburn, girl, and I know
You can do hard things

You could lose all your time looking for water for your soul
So lean your ear in, darlin—you’ve gotta listen close
A love worth your life, it’s gonna cost you your home
But you’re the bone of My bone—you’re never gonna be alone

There’s a wider world
Across the sea
Cross the water, girl
To the world’s last stand with Me

THE DOOR

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART, AUDRA LYNN, JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

From dust you came and to dust you’ll go
And you’re already poor, naked, and miserable
But come to the vineyard, come to the Feast
There’s bread and there’s plenty, fill your pockets unempty
If you want more, you can get warm
If you want more, you can get warm
I can show you the door, the door, the door

Who has thread a camel through the eye of a needle?
Who has crucified the cares that choke out the seed sown?
Who has walked the narrow way despite all the trouble?
If you want a surplus, then just seek first the Kingdom.

Suddenly we need to leave? Are You so uncaring?
You don’t need to hike a summit just to be with me
You who can do anything, You hear what You’re asking?
I know the sky’ll split one day and You can come get me
If You want more, You can find more
If You want more, You can find more
You can turn out the door, the door, the door
You can turn out the door, the door, the door

I can hear you singing in a not-so-distant day
But right now you are choking on a thousand other names
I’ll meet you in the desert, all your barren place
I will speak tenderly to your deepest shame
If you want more, you can hope more
If you want more, you can hope more
I will show you the door, the door, the door
I will show you the door, the door, the door

Who has thread a camel through the eye of a needle?
Who has crucified the cares that choke out the seed sown?
Who has walked the narrow way despite all the trouble?
If you want a surplus, then just seek first the Kingdom

I have shown you the door, the door, the door
Come and open the door, the door, the door

WILD WIND

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK, audra lynn, and logan murphy
PERFORMED BY audra lynn

Well, the wind it comes and goes, like eternity in time
But I’m looking for the One I love, lest in regret I die
If heaven can be taken by violence in the night
I will rise and I will seek, until Him I find
But these streets are dark without sunlight
And Jesus, we are gonna dance or fight tonight

FOXES, WEEDS, AND JEALOUSY

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART, AUDRA LYNN, JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

My mind is spinnin’, hon
I got more thoughts than these grains this sun
Is bleeding red, here in this wilderness
But you’ve got all these other trusts
In your confused heart’s allegiances
Not one belongs inside this hedge
I’ll bind up every lust you’ve found
And I’ll strike a match and burn them to the ground

Better not to take a vow than make and not keep it
Do not awaken love before it pleases
Two things that show no mercy
Three that devour everything
Foxes, those thieves
And suffocating weeds
But none can stand the fury
Of a Husband’s jealousy

They say that bitterness
It’ll be the death of fallen flesh but I have seen
Ego do the very same thing
Even all your hidden thoughts
Every decision you think I’m not aware of
In all the tangles you’ve been caught
I’ll string up every fox you’ve fed,
Idolatrous dreams that want to see you dead

Better not to take a vow than make and not keep it
Do not awaken love before it pleases
Two things that show no mercy
Three that devour everything
Foxes, those thieves
And suffocating weeds
But none can stand the fury
Of a Husband’s jealousy

I’m not here to lead You on
I’m just not ready to abandon
Everything You’ve entrusted to me
Even once I heard You speak but
Sleep is where voices and dreams
Compete for love and clarity
I’m already all settled in
How could You ask me to uproot again?

Better not to take a vow than make and not keep it
Do not awaken love before it pleases
Two things that show no mercy
Three that devour everything
Foxes, those thieves
And suffocating weeds
But none can stand the fury
Of a Husband’s jealousy

All healthy things grow
Get pruned so you go
He has His Day
He’ll have His way
So give up what you cannot keep
Cling to what you cannot lose
Beloved, don’t be a fool
Beloved, don’t be a fool

BURNING LEAVES

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK & audra lynn
PERFORMED BY audra lynn

As the colors ignite, I know coming is the night
As the winds remove all the fallen, once alive
My lungs are growing tighter with every other breath
So I wait for love to resurrect my life again

O, how I’ve kicked my feet through these burning, falling leaves
O, how my heart so dreads the land soon laden with snow
O, how I long to hear Him sing
“Darling, the winter is gone—today begins the spring.”

The moon is gaining slowly its place in the sky
Its crescent bearing all the light entering my eye
And wisdom whispers lower to my heart again
“Even in the winter, there is still mercy.”

It’s all I can do to avoid collecting dust
Presently accumulating words once often touched
Ever-near me now this haunting ghost of offense
But I’ll give the pain my “yes” if it’ll bring You back again

O, how I’ve kicked my feet through these burning, falling leaves
O, how my heart so dreads the land soon laden with snow
O, how I long to hear Him sing
“Darling, the winter is gone—today begins the spring.”

I’ve strolled these city streets
I’ve heard that Word call clear to me
Drawing me to places where we before have met
And in those memories
It’s as if You never left

& THERE SHE WILL SING

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART

Yeah, it’s a long road between
The shore where she first felt free
And all the ground we’re conquering
And it’s a long row of stones to see
All broken vows and infidelity
But in the graveyard of her deepest grief

This is where, this is where she’ll sing

A city of war, known for her swords
For every man a cup of stupor
But she and the world will be reborn
When the afflicted one is tossed no longer
Life will pasture even in Achor
Tilled with guns that could not prosper

This is where, this is where she’ll sing
This is where, this is where she’ll sing

The Son of Man’ll stand on the Olivet
He’ll come on the clouds just the way He went
On David’s steady throne He will sit
A holy day to never to forget
When the city who killed the prophets
Is forever known as THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

Every word she spurned in suffering
Every womb she knew was empty
Every embrace she refused from Me
But blessed, blessed, blessed is she
When she sings, “Blessed, blessed, blessed is He”
When she sings, “Blessed, blessed, blessed is He”

Every crime, every rebellion
Every front page accusation
Every good thing I’ve promised is true
And blessed, blessed, blessed are you
When you sing, “Blessed, blessed, blessed Yehu”
When you sing, “Blessed, blessed, blessed Yehu”

I can name and number every star in sight
The foundations of the earth are Mine
If anybody wants to pick a fight
Meet Me where I was crucified
And watch Me turn My brand
Plucked from the fire into a bride

Over her, over her I’ll sing

THE LORD, THE LORD
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

MYRRH

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK, audra lynn, LOGAN MURPHY, & ADORNIAM JUDSON
PERFORMED BY audra lynn

I had a dream about the sea
I was a lighthouse, You were calling to me
I was living in retreat
Hiding from Poseidon’s fury
I saw the last sands of time
When the unprepared will beg the wise
I reached for my lamp to light
To look for oil but found the fool in mine

But wisdom will be justified by
What she bears over her life
So break my leg, my name decide
That I’ll emerge unrecognized

The water came in slow
Great the fall, my tower buckled
I had let my love grow cold
As accusations plundered all my hope

I woke rattled to my core
Of my life deluded meant for more
If it’s You or the shore
I am Yours, I am Yours

But wisdom will be justified by
What she bears over her life
So break my leg my name decide

That I’ll emerge unrecognized
Mine will be a vessel shattered
Every drop poured over my lover
So bring the floods and bring the fire
I am yours hell or high water

I will ne’er again retreat
From the Gethsemane in which You’re leading
To Golgotha and the death of me
For You will triumph o’er defeat

In spite of sorrow, loss, or pain
Our course be onward still
We sow on Burma’s barren plain
We reap on Zion’s hill

I had a dream about the sea
I was the lighthouse, You were calling to me

You have a dream for You and me
You are the lighthouse
Your light beckons to me

BETTER WINE

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART

There was once a Garden sin and shame eroded
If I close My eyes, I can feel the implosion
Yet in the holy mind, not a day is wasted
To dig the buried wells for the water of Eden

I could spend eternity without you by My side
But we would miss the whole point of this sacrificial life
Hidden in the Vine are the deepest mysteries
Eve was just a shadow of the bride made ready

I am your better wine
And darlin, you are Mine

It’s in the way you choose to think of all things good and true
The way you serve and nurture everyone surrounding you
How you’re given to Me with no hesitations
Fidelity is best expressed in free obedience

I am your better wine
And darlin, you are Mine
I am your better wine
And darlin, you are Mine

We have come so far from where we started out from
Every valley and mountain where you learned to trust
I can feel the cost—I know the weight of your cross
But you have got Me wrapped up, dear—it only takes one look Even when you don’t get it right, I see every time you try
And in My best bottles, I’ve kept every tear you’ve cried
Bathe in this “better word,” abide in this Vine

I am your better wine
And darlin, you are Mine
I am your better wine
And darlin, you are Mine
Darlin, you are Mine

COST

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
ARRANGED BY JAYE THOMAS
PERFORMED BY JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

Wait, o wait
Wait, o wait —
Wait, o wait
Take a step back, now
Before you cast your crown
And leave your only hometown
Wait, o wait
Wait, o wait

Why this waste
Why this waste
Why this waste —
Why this waste
Girl it was cute at the start
But now it’s breaking your heart
And your alabaster jar
Why this waste
Why this waste

MORE THAN

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK, audra lynn, & LOGAN MURPHY
PERFORMED BY audra lynn, JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

There are a thousand songs of the same refrain
None of them stand in the darkest night
Singing of the times I gave myself away
My love cast off to an idol’s fame

So I’ve been running myself into the ground
To put You together, to figure You out
But Your heart is like poetry
More like a song to sing
I’ve been out-of-key and off-beat
All along

There are a thousand reasons You should give up
Namely, to grow weary of how often I run
From this dance of You showing me how to love
By Your gentleness, all my defense is undone

There are a thousand angels who know my name
For all the times You’ve called them to the lines for me
Proving You are stronger than relentless shame
Your words dripping grace, I know I’m finally safe

So I’ve been running myself into the ground
To put You together, to figure You out
But Your heart is like poetry
More like a song to sing
I’ve been out-of-key and off-beat
All along

My eyes are beginning to find
Your words have no laces or traces of lies
Every action in Your pursuit of me
Is forged in the furnace of a holy jealousy

There are a thousand other loves who’ve known my touch
I know better than all the debt of their cost
I left them all when You raised my dirty eyes from the dust
There have been a thousand, but You are more than all

DEATH WITHOUT REGRET

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY AUDRA LYNN, ANDREW COWART, JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

There is a cup before me
And a crown if I don’t quit
One day I’ll shine just like my Father When I reign with Him
So I will pay the cost of every loss
To gain what I can’t miss
Because it’s death
Before disobedience

There is now no condemnation
For any son an heir
So with my numbered days of conquering
I’ll bust this alabaster
So when my trumpet sounds, my body’s found And my rotten coffin splits
I’ll know it’s death
To kill disobedience

You shall love the Lord your God with all
You heart soul strength and mind

Of His sovereignty, what can we say?
We are sheep yet led to slaughtering
For a man cannot escape the grave
Death has claim on everything
But love is a holier flame
Its jealousy cannot be tamed
When I die
I will regret nothing

There is a cup before me
And a crown if I don’t quit
One day I’ll shine just like my Father When I reign with Him
It is God who justifies and binds
Not a damned thing could then divide And I’ll die
Before I disobey

You shall love the Lord your God with all
You heart soul strength and mind

OLD WINE

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY ANDREW COWART & AUDRA LYNN

I have stared down the barrel to see the joy beyond
This path I’ve paved and sown in pain, the nights I’ve spent alone
Carnality won’t hold Me when I weep
It’ll lay out its branches, crucify Me in a week
But tarry in the Garden—can you pray
To lead My beloved out of all her caves and graves

You have done such great things for me
Out of fire, into fullness with a song as I lean
Every promise is paid for in tears
When hope deferred breaks you down o’er an age’s worth of years Yet every drop shed clarifies my eyes
To see and bear the burden You ransomed with Your life

HaShem never cuts covenant ending in divorce
Sing to Yerushalayim the end of all her wars
“Blessed is He who comes;” no knee will have a choice
He’ll split apart the Olivet and comfort with a Voice
That’ll bring to the time of birth and cause delivery
Draw Eden from the wilderness and let a barren woman sing

For I want a love that survives a lifetime
Don’t give Me a weak drink
I want the old wine

LEGENDS, LEGACIES, AND LAST WORDS

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY AUDRA LYNN & ANDREW COWART

Love can be a war just to believe
It’s no small thing when you can’t see
It’s dark where I am, darling; and I have to lean
On Your heart; on Your arm

Narrow is the road, and difficult to find
But we’ll be hand-in-hand at the finish line
I will be your seal, the last Name on your mind
On your heart; on your arm

For Death is not the only one consuming all in view
Jealousy’s a holy fury when it is set on you
In the Day of Reckoning, He will have everything
He will have everything

May the Lamb receive in me
Reward for all His suffering

THE PARABLE

WRITTEN BY STEPHANIE QUICK
PERFORMED BY STEPHANIE QUICK, JAYE THOMAS, TAYLOR GASTINEAU, & ODETA

Well let me say it clearly
So you don’t miss anything you’ve heard
We’ll close this age for the Garden
There ain’t no “end of the world”

See what happened in Eden
Was a glimpse of all to come
Word, light, life, covenant
Covering and confession

Our Mother of All Living
She was promised then a Son
Who will war against the liar’s seed
And triumph over all

The first man in the Garden
Was a type of Him to come
From his side, a bride who died
Joined in the grave by her husband

Adam’s treason was his failure
And hers to buy deception
But the better Word that washes her
Will bring us to the resurrection

Don’t ignore your invitation
Or despise the mysteries
He set the stage of the ages
To display manifold glory

In Egypt every firstborn
Was spared when Death passed by
But the bloody Lamb is the bloody Man
Who stood in when Avraham gained a ram

The One Zipporah wouldn’t know
The Bridegroom of Blood Ruth welcomed
The price Hosea paid for Gomer
What Judas Iscariot made as a traitor

Immanuel’s veins are the fountain
Perfect Judge, the better Flood
In His Name you are rescued
From self-wrought destruction

Yet if you are not covered
If you have not yet confessed
You’ve not yet known the One
Who rescues in the wilderness

For when this show crescendos
When Zion is saved from the sword
In the Greater Exodus
Every eye alive will see the LORD

One day soon He’ll set the feast
The finest wine, the fattest meats
But to enter this Garden you must confess
The only King of Heaven, Earth, and Jerusalem

From the highways and byways
Compel them all to come
Come to the wedding
The joy of the righteous One

O, come to the wedding
Come to the wedding
So come to the wedding
Yeah, come to the wedding

For the Kingdom of Heaven
Is like a prodigal God
Preparing a wedding
For His beloved Son

So come to the wedding
Come to the wedding
Come

Maranatha, marry us.
