Here’s a quick breakdown of what the Lord is doing in places where public expressions of Christianity result in persecution, excommunication, and death: Jesus is saving people. Many of those people are part of a disciple making group. Each person in a group is leading another group. Each of those people are being discipled and are obediently reproducing other groups of disciples that do likewise. And most of those people are women.

I’d like to issue this invitation to you as we leave 2020 for 2021: Come to the table. And bring your buddies. Bring your neighbors. And may He purge us there of everything we still carry but cannot bring into the Promised Land. May He meet us there and “add many to our numbers.” And may the table become a place of humility and repentance, where the Body and Bride of Jesus can prepare the way for the coming King.

Success is not based on bodies in a room. Success is based on whether or not disciples make disciples who can stand on their own, make more disciples (highly reproducible), and are highly obedient to Christ. It’s Jesus or bust. We’re in this thing for eternity.
